Mamuka Khazaradze says he was not eager to make a statement on Salome Zourbalishvili in the pre-election period

My friends and I completely disagree with this process and express our protest, - Mamuka Khazaradze, founder of the Lelo public movement, told reporters on the issue of pardoning prisoners by Salome Zourabichvili.

Khazaradze said that there should be a pardon institution, but the form in which it was implemented is absolutely unacceptable.

As to whether Khazaradze regrets his pre-election statement that it was not time for revenge, which was perceived by the public as support for Zourabichvili, Khazaradze says that he had to make that statement based on the existing situation.

“I want to tell you that I am sincere in my statements. I am accountable to the public for every step I’ve taken. Everything has its explanation. This was not a statement I was very pleased to make. I had to make that statement based on the existing situation, because the situation of depositors, our funders from abroad, our clients and our team was in jeopardy. However, I would like to clarify that I have not called the public to support any candidate. I just said that it was time to end revenge in Georgia and I have the same position now,” Khazaradze said.
