Everything is being done for the release of Vazha Gaprindashvili, no matter of what statements are made, - reads the statement of the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality.

According to the statement, the Co-Chairs of the Geneva International Discussions are in the occupied Tskhinvali region, one of the main issues of which is the release of Vazha Gaprindashvili.

“The Office of the State Minister and all relevant agencies continue to work for the release of Vazha Gaprindashvili. This is the foremost task and everything is done to achieve this, no matter what of statements are made. Co-chairs of the Geneva International Discussions are also in Tskhinvali today and one of the main issues is the release of Vazha Gaprindashvili,” reads the statement.

Vazha Gaprindashvili, a Georgian doctor detained in Akhalgori district, was sentenced to two-month pre-trial detention in Akhalgori on November 15.
