PM Gakharia discusses anti-crisis economic program at meeting with businessmen

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has discussed the development of anti-crisis economic program with representatives of a business sector, the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

The PM’s Administration said that the representatives of large business companies praised the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia to launch a credit-guarantee scheme to assist companies in the post-crisis phase.

“The head of the government, together with the ministers of the economic team, the National Bank Vice-President and the business ombudsman, discussed the post-crisis economic program at the meeting with businessmen.

Giorgi Gakharia noted that work on the post-crisis economic program should start from today, so that after the crisis, companies can quickly recover their growth rates. According to him, the business sector initiatives are of great importance in developing this program.

The Prime Minister listened to suggestions from representatives of large companies regarding the post-crisis period.

It was agreed that the special working group would develop proposals, which would then be discussed in an expanded format.

According to the businessmen, starting the discussion over the post-crisis plan by the government is a very timely decision and the offered help - a very important and valuable, since the business needs support in overcoming the challenge in order to save jobs, to return to the starting phase as soon as possible and to stay competitive", reads the statement issued by the Administration of the Government.
