Irakli Kobakhidze on the National Movement: This is a kind of war party, they want to see war in Ukraine, I think they are not satisfied with that only and want to see such processes in Georgia again

The result of the steps of today's opposition is that 20% of our country is handed over to the Russian Federation, it seems that it is enough for them and they want more. This is a kind of war party, they obviously want to see war in Ukraine, I think they are not satisfied with that only and they want to see such processes in Georgia again. What they did in 2008 will not be repeated for the simple reason that they are in opposition, Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the Georgian Dream party, said in response to opposition members' assessments of the text of the resolution in support of Ukraine.

According to him, the versions of the opposition were directed not towards the interests of the state, but towards the development of certain events to the detriment of the state.

"The text of the resolution is formulated exactly as it is in line with our state interests. Everyone knows our approach to foreign policy, we have principled positions and policies, it is always reflected in the relevant texts.

What they did in 2008 will not be repeated for the simple reason that they are in opposition. They should let us pursue a foreign policy that results in peace and security in Georgia. This resolution expresses our support to our friendly Ukrainian people and the position is expressed on all issues. The resolution is clear and unequivocal, the opposition had its versions and they were directed not to reflect the interests of the state in the text, but to develop certain events to the detriment of the state. Therefore, we can not follow the war party, which brought severe consequences to Georgia in 2008, they want more and it seems that this alone does not satisfy them," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
