Sergo Chikhladze: Strategy Builder offered the government an action plan for receiving EU candidate country status, but there has been no response so far

According to Sergo Chikhladze, one of the leaders of Strategy Builder, the party offered the government a concrete initiative and an action plan for receiving the status of a candidate country from the European Union.

However, as Sergo Chikhladze noted at today's briefing, so far there has been no response from the Prime Minister or the parliamentary majority.

"It is already the fifth day that an application has been submitted on behalf of the government regarding our membership in the European Union, but we reiterate that the mere application does not mean that this issue will be resolved positively. 5 days ago, on the same day as the application was submitted, we proposed specific initiatives and action plan drawn up by Giorgi Vashadze to the government, however, so far there has been no response from the Prime Minister or the parliamentary majority.

Let us reiterate what needs to be done:

First, we need to create a joint action plan, joint agenda of both the government and the opposition.

Second, it is necessary to pay a joint visit to the official structures of the European Union in the coming days.

Third, we need to plan and implement effective reforms and steps to meet the criteria necessary for EU membership. Of course, just submitting an application is not enough. We do not have the luxury of wasting 5 days, a week,” Chikhladze said.
