Irakli Kobakhidze:  Nikanor Melia actually disclosed the tactics of Saakashvili's lawyers, this is a simple tactical maneuver

A simple tactical maneuver - this is how the chairman of Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, evaluated the information spread about the possible departure of the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili from Georgian politics.

As Kobakhidze explained, the mentioned secret was disclosed by Nika Melia.

“The formal chairman of National Movement, Nikanor Melia, actually disclosed the tactics that Saakashvili's lawyers actually had. They say Saakashvili no longer wants Georgian politics, he doesn't even talk about it anymore - it's a simple tactical maneuver and it is understandable that lawyers' use it. The interesting thing is why formal chairman Nikanor Melia disclosed this secret. This shows that there is a very serious division within the party, there is actually polarization within the National Movement, Kobakhidze said.

As for the question regarding Saakashvili’s transfer to another country for treatment, Kobakhidze said that "society is tired of these issues".

"Society is tired of talking about all this, there are 9,500 prisoners in Georgia, 9,500 prisoners are serving sentences, and a similar approach should be taken towards any prisoner. The society is already tired of this pointless conversation," said Kobakhidze.
