Lelo demands that the Parliament consider the draft law on creating an anti-corruption agency initiated by them about a year ago

Lelo political secretary Salome Samadashvili spoke about this at a special briefing held in the Parliament.

According to her, Georgian Dream, which is itself a center of corruption, does not think that this is the country's problem.

"For 5 days, the society, the country, the city mourns the life of the deceased child who became a victim. A victim, like many other people, of the main evil against society, that is the problem of corruption. Corruption, which the Georgian Dream helped to flourish, corruption that deprives our children of the chance to live in a normal country. As it turned out, this is corruption, which is dangerous for people's lives. We cannot leave it unanswered, and the Parliament, which should ensure that our citizens do not die, including our children, are safe, must take steps to defeat the cancer that kills our society, and that is called corruption.

Almost a year ago, our political team მადე a legislative initiative regarding the creation of an independent anti-corruption agency. Until today, Georgian Dream did not deem it necessary to consider this initiative, when corruption is killing people and when the European Union tells us that if we do not fight corruption, this country has no future in the European Union. But Georgian Dream, which itself is the center of this corruption, does not think that this is the problem of this country," said Salome Samadashvili.

As for Kakha Kaladze's responsibility for the incident, Samadashvili says that the Tbilisi Mayor does have a political responsibility.

"Kaladze himself did not carry out the work related to the reconstruction of the fountain, but he is politically responsible for protecting the health of our citizens. When he declared it a successful project, he took political responsibility. Kaladze is only politically responsible for success and he is not responsible for the unfortunate result that happened, it doesn't work like that, right? This is not how political responsibility is divided," said Salome Samadashvili.
