The Venice Commission and the authors of the 12 recommendations have contradicted each other - we will adopt the law on deoligarchization and we will wait for the European Commission's opinion, said majority MP Irakli Kadagishvili.

According to him, if the European Commission says that the mentioned law is not necessary, then they will withdraw it.

"When the recommendation on deoligarchization was drawn up, the goal was to adopt a law that would ensure deoligarchization in their understanding. Such a law was adopted only in Ukraine, which was fully approved by the European Union. In order to avoid speculation, we adopted this law. The Venice Commission does not have a problem with the legal status of the law, it has a problem with the need for a law that personally defines who can be an oligarch. The Venice Commission believes that this violates human rights and tells us to take systemic decisions.

If we analyze this, they tell us that, in fact, our legislation is already adjusted to all this.

We will adopt the mentioned law anyway and we will wait for the opinion of the European Commission. If they say that this law is not necessary, then we will withdraw it. If they say it is necessary, they should explain how it is necessary", said Irakli Kadagishvili.
