Today, the Ukrainian government does not have the kind of attitude towards Georgia that we would like them to have - Georgia remains in the mode of one-sided friendship, said Georgian Dream MP Mikheil Sarjveladze, the chairman of the Human Rights Committee.

Sarjveladze congratulated Ukraine on its Independence Day. Regarding the issue of why the delegation from Georgia is not at the event and whether they received an invitation or not, Sarjveladze states that making accusations against Ukraine or hearing wrong accusations from their side is not in the interest of Georgian-Ukrainian relations and he refrains from commenting on this issue.

"We directly say that it is preferable to analyze the issue of the presence or absence of specific persons there in a different context. Today, the Ukrainian government does not have such an attitude towards Georgia that any person who is a supporter and declares Georgian-Ukrainian relations as a priority would like them to have. Unfortunately, this is the reality. As for the event itself, as it turns out, the presidents are invited, this is how it was planned, what led to the invitation-non-invitation of a specific composition, specific persons - this should probably be of secondary importance. As for the content, the most important thing is that we wholeheartedly congratulate all of Ukraine on Independence Day and wish it to neutralize all the risks that threaten its sovereignty and independence as quickly as possible. This is an important task, a priority and remains an important thing for Georgia as well. Georgia seems to remain in the mode of one-sided friendship, as it was called at the time," said Sarjveladze.
