Shalva Papuashvili: If anyone wants to help the government to implement the 9 recommendations, the door is open to everyone - the only thing we are afraid of is that we will again see the opposition, as well as some activist groups that will prevent the implementation of the recommendations

If anyone wants to help the Georgian people and their elected government to implement the 9 recommendations, the door is open to everyone - the only thing we are afraid of is that we will again see the opposition, as well as some activist groups that will prevent the implementation of the recommendations, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, said while talking to journalists about the 9 recommendations issued by the European Commission

As he mentioned, it is important for the Georgian authorities to successfully prevent obstructing the implementation of the recommendations, as it happened during the 12 recommendations.

"Regarding the 9 recommendations, steps have been outlined, one of which is a change in the party financing, which has also been agreed with the European Commission. I think everyone agreed that it is primarily the responsibility and prerogative of the Georgian government to implement these recommendations, to work and coordinate with the European Commission. As for the opposition, they are invited to help the Georgian government in this process. If anyone wants to help the Georgian people and their elected government to implement these recommendations, the door is open to everyone. As we saw success in the implementation of 12 recommendations, we again expect a positive decision from the European Commission. The Georgian government will successfully implement these 9 recommendations. The only thing we fear is that we will again see the opposition, as well as some activist groups, that will prevent the implementation of the recommendations. It is important that the government of Georgia be able to avoid this interference as successfully as it happened during the 12 recommendations", Papuashvili said.
