Bringing you a new concept, who said there had to be a 9-step task force?! - Part of the legislative decisions will be initiated by the government, - Chairman of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee Irakli Kadagishvili said, thus answering the question whether working groups will be created to fulfill the 9 steps defined by the European Union.

According to his statement, the opposition has the opportunity to participate in the parliamentary formats defined by the regulations in the process related to the legislative amendments to be accepted within the framework of 9 steps.

"A number of tasks, which are described in 9 steps, are not only to be performed by the parliament, there are many issues that involve the implementation of policies by the government. Related to the implementation of this policy are, among others, various legislative changes that may be required. This will be a live process and depending on what legislative initiatives the process will need, specific work will be done around those initiatives. Some of the legislative decisions can be initiated by the parliament itself, some can be initiated by the government. It will be a live process, all interested political parties will have full opportunity to engage in this process. "Working group" as such, can we give birth to this word as a new resistance cell?! None of the recommendations mentions a working group. Now this word will become the subject of another controversy or speculation. It is written there that everyone should be involved. Everyone will have the opportunity to do so. There are constitutional bodies and procedures prescribed by law, where the opposition has the opportunity to fully participate. According to our law and regulations, the opposition has the full right to work in all formats in today's parliament," Kadagishvili said.

Regarding the issue of whether the final decision has been made regarding the working groups, Kadagishvili states that they will not make a decision on the issue that is not on the agenda.

"Introduce a new concept?, I don't know who said that there should be a working group regarding these 9 steps. We bring you a concept (in the form of a working group), which has not been voiced anywhere and by anyone. We will not be able to make a decision on the issue that is not on the agenda in this sense", said Kadagishvili.

As for the "work format" mentioned in the government's action plan, Kadagishvili states that "the work format is what is regulated in the parliament."

"Now we are talking about completely different recommendations, their content and the course of implementation are also completely different. I call on everyone not to artificially invent foci of resistance on the right path, including the opposition and its propaganda tools. All formats will be implemented, which are needed to fulfill this task," Kadagishvili said.
