According to Vakhtang Gomelauri, candidate for the position of the Minister of Internal Affairs, the national defense strategy will be sent to the Georgian government for approval after receiving the national security concept and threat assessment document.

As he mentioned at the meeting of the joint committees, the threat assessment document is almost completed and will be approved in the near future."The staff of the National Security Council, in active cooperation with the civilian and military representatives of the Ministry of Defense, developed the project of the National Defense Strategy of Georgia, within the framework of an intensive working group with the representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff. The document reflected the changed security environment in the region accordingly. The national defense strategy will be sent to the Government of Georgia for approval after receiving the national security concept and threat assessment document. The threat document is almost finished and we will receive it in the near future, then the draft of the national defense strategy should be finished", Gomelauri said.
