Gia Volski on meeting with Davit Khidasheli: He has not voiced any anti-Western, pro-Russian, or even anti-Georgian idea

Davit Khidasheli has not voiced any anti-Western, pro-Russian, or even anti-Georgian idea, Gia Volski, the deputy of the parliamentary majority, said, responding to the video broadcast yesterday, where he met Davit Khidasheli.

According to him, Davit Khidasheli was the person who exposed that "Mikheil Saakashvili sold territories and brought maps from the archive".

"Davit Khidasheli called me, I didn't know him, he said I had interesting opinions about Abkhazia. When this video was released, I couldn't understand what was the reason for this joy, although I will say that they were talking very loudly in the cafe so that the waiter and all the people sitting there could hear it. Then I realized that there were people from Droa, who need to be reminded every day that they receive funding from the Russian budget, and I think this joy was caused by the fact that I met Davit Khidasheli.

I tell you honestly, Khidasheli has not voiced any anti-Western, pro-Russian, or especially anti-Georgian ideas. He talked about the fact that in 2011, during the period of the National Movement, there was an agreement with Russia and Switzerland with international participation, that Georgia gave Russia the green light for membership in the International Trade Organization, and he said if it was possible to restore this transit movement with the involvement of this Swiss side on the basis of the agreement that was signed by the National Movement signed with Russia in 2011. But there was no need for my long answers, he himself understands well and expressed his position that in the current situation, after the start of hostilities, after Russia invaded and occupied the Ukrainian territories, any negotiation, especially with international participation, with Russia, is impossible. It has no perspective and he understands it well," said Gia Volski.

Volski also answered a question whether he spoke with Davit Khidasheli about the confederation with Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

"As for the confederation, he mentioned this word quite loudly, so that the people sitting next to him even looked at us when he said it would be good to create a confederation with Abkhazia. A large part of the society knows that a confederation is possible, but not in such a situation", said Volski.
