Mamuka Mdinaradze: remove the sanctions from the judges and also apologize to Lasha Chkhikvadze - no evidence has been presented and starting an investigation without evidence is not a democratic standard

Iriki, we plead with them in this discussion, either to remove the sanctions from the judges, as well as to apologize to (judge) Lasha Chkhikvadze, - this is how the leader of the parliamentary majority Mamuka Mdinaradze answered the question whether the request of the USA to start an investigation against the judges on whom there are question marks will be met or not.

As Mdinaradze pointed out, they asked for evidence on the mentioned request, but there is no evidence, without which, starting the investigation is not a democratic standard.

"A few days ago, we had a request to them to remove sanctions from our judges because there is no evidence. Accordingly, to our question, request and even our request to remove unjust sanctions from Georgian judges, we received an answer from our friend that the investigation should be started. We have also asked them to provide evidence, there is no evidence, and starting an investigation without evidence is not a democratic standard. Not even for the USA, nor for Europe, nor for Georgia. As Americans, Europeans and Georgians, we have a common value - no country starts an investigation without evidence", Mdinaradze said.

However, he noted that there is nothing [as evidence] in public sources.

"In public sources, it appears that Gigauri and Lomjaria are called some kind of "clan", and the investigation cannot be started based on this. Therefore, they should remove the sanctions, on the contrary, we are appealing to them in this discussion, or they should remove the sanctions, and they should also apologize to Lasha Chkhikvadze, who even the family members put in a very difficult psychological situation so that those people needed medical help, and in the second case, if this is no longer the case they should do it, then give us the evidence on the basis of which these people were sanctioned and the Georgian justice will investigate", said Mdinaradze.
