Ilia Darchiashvili: Georgia, together with its partners, is consistently working Euro-Atlantic integration

I would like to point out that Georgia has clear foreign policy priorities. One of the main things is our integration into NATO and our aspiration to join this family, - the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, said while assessing the Washington Summit of NATO.

According to him, Georgia, together with its partners, is consistently working in this direction.

Ilia Darchiashvili noted that the main topic of the summit is the issue of Ukraine.

According to him, the anniversary, 75th summit is a good platform for discussion of challenges.

"As expected, the main line of the summit is again Ukraine, expressing solidarity for Ukraine. Yesterday was also very busy with this topic, because Ukraine needs strong support and solidarity. It is the anniversary summit that gives the opportunity for the USA and its partners to show strong support once again towards Ukraine, and on the other hand, to look for additional mechanisms that will strengthen Ukraine, so that the country can protect itself. This is the main topic of the summit," said Darchishvili.

As part of the Washington Summit, Ilia Darchiashvili attended the anniversary reception held on behalf of the US President, Joe Biden. In addition, the head of the foreign ministry will take part in the meeting under the auspices of the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, which will be held in the format of a round table.

"This is a very interactive gathering, where ministers have the opportunity to exchange views on various topics. Georgia is always ready to participate in similar discussions. I am sure that this platform will give us an additional opportunity to once again confirm to our partners our unequivocal position regarding our foreign political priorities", Ilia Darchiashvili said.

Within the framework of the summit, Darchiashvili also held bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts.
