“We cannot defeat Bidzina through a slow, passive process. Beyond keyboard typing, we need struggle, sacrifice, and risk,” wrote Levan Khabeishvili, Chair of the Political Council of the United National Movement, in a letter sent from prison.
He said that action and active resistance are necessary.
“Action and struggle are needed. Beyond keyboard typing, we need struggle, sacrifice, and risk-based active engagement,” Khabeishvili wrote.
He also spoke about internal tensions within the ruling party, claiming that current political developments are linked to conflicts between different groups within “Georgian Dream.”
According to him, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is under political pressure, and potential replacements being considered include Parliament Vice Speaker Tea Tsulukiani and Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili.
He further commented on statements made by Mamuka Mdinaradze regarding mining in Svaneti, suggesting they were directed against Viktor Japaridze, and raised questions about cryptocurrency mining, electricity consumption, and alleged preferential treatment.
Khabeishvili argued that internal clan confrontation is intensifying within Bidzina Ivanishvili’s political circle, saying: “This is a signal that if the ‘rebellious People’s Power’ continues like this, their money bags will be punished and they will be left without black money.”
He also commented on disputes between Kobakhidze and Japaridze, describing them as part of a wider internal struggle.
“We must remember that we cannot defeat Bidzina through such a slow process of ‘waiting’ and ‘it will happen on its own.’ Action and struggle are needed. Beyond keyboard typing, we need active engagement, sacrifice, and risk,” he added.
In a postscript, Khabeishvili noted that he has been allowed to receive letters by post and asked supporters to send their analyses, positions, and printed materials, including newspapers.
