Giorgi Vashadze: We will in no way change the venue of rally planned in Telavi

The United Opposition is not going to change the venue of a rally planned in Telavi. As one of the leaders of the opposition, Giorgi Vashadze stated, the rally will be held where it was planned.

The opposition calls on the authorities not to restrict their protest.

"We often see that public servants do not read the law. Our obligation was to warn them about the rally and we did it. We are not holding a rally in the central square of Telavi, where various events are planned in connection with the inauguration. We will hold our rally where nothing is planned and we will in no way change the venue”, Vashadze said.

According to him, the rally will be peaceful and they will protest against Salome Zurabishvili’s inauguration.

As for the guests that plan to arrive for the inauguration, Vashadze said the list of guests was a proof of western partners’ questions regarding the elections. “For example, a guest from the US will be somebody from USAID”, he said.
