It was the political responsibility and obligation of the police and the interior minister to protect the constitutional order and the institute from violent attacks, - Chairman of Parliament Archil Talakvadze told journalists on Tuesday.

Talakvadze noted that the demand for resignation of Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia is a political demand from opposition leaders who do not have any moral right.

“They supported a violent scenario in front of the parliament. I think that despite the fact that many of our citizens were injured, our priority is to care for them, their full medical rehabilitation and these expenses are covered by the state. Of course, it's a pity that the citizens, policemen and journalists are injured, but no democratic state will tolerate a violent attack on the constitutional order, security of citizens and parliament.
