Giga Bokeria calls restrictions “another irrational and irresponsible step”

According to Giga Bokeria, one of the leaders of European Georgia, the regulations adopted by the government are "another irrational and irresponsible step of the Ivanishvili regime."

According to him, the government has neither the ability, nor the faith, nor the competence to take the steps that the country needs.

"It will be an additional blow to our citizens and businesses, the price of which we will have to pay in the future. I will not go into details, in general, it is completely incomprehensible. These people did nothing to prepare the country for this wave during such and even tougher closures, and the whole country is now paying the price. This process will continue as long as this infamous leader and his entourage of political idiots and clowns rule the country. Unfortunately, this loss will continue because these people have neither the ability, nor the faith, nor the competence to take the steps that the country needs," Bokeria said.

According to him, the government should have prepared for the second wave of the pandemic.

The government announced new restrictions that will take effect from November 28. Namely, shops, restaurants, fitness centers and swimming pools will be closed and public and intercity transport will be restricted from November 28. The restrictions will cover the period of 2 months till 31 January.

The movement of persons from 21:00 to 05:00 both on foot and by transport, as well as presence in public space will be restricted; the only exceptions will be the New Year night - December 31 and Christmas night - January 6.

The restriction does not apply to cars, including taxis.

Shopping facilities (except for food stores, animal food stores, pharmacies, veterinary pharmacies, household chemicals and hygiene stores and press booths) will operate only remotely.
