Georgia will continue the vaccination process with AstraZeneca. The decision was made by a group of experts after a meeting at the Ministry of Health.
"We have recently learned from a strict European regulator that AstraZeneca has been recognized as a safe vaccine that has far more benefits than the risk, which doesn't give any country a reason to stop using the AstraZeneca vaccine. The council made a joint decision that the vaccination process in Georgia will continue with AstraZeneca unhindered", - Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said at a briefing after the meeting.
The group started discussing the issue after a 27-year-old nurse developed anaphylactic shock after getting Astrazeneca vaccine at the Imedi Clinic in Akhaltsikhe. As it is known, her health condition is serious.
