I emphasize once again the crucial role played by the European Union and the United States in the direction of security and stability in Georgia, - the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said at the Batumi International Conference.

As the head of the government noted, the European Union and the United States were exemplary partners in terms of strengthening Georgia's security, economy and democracy.

"The EUMM has been working internationally only along the occupation line and has significantly helped to prevent provocations by the occupation forces since the 2008 Russian aggression. The European Union and the United States have been exemplary partners in terms of strengthening our security, our economy and our democracy. We are a young democracy, but we listen, learn and develop, along with striving for greater integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

As I said at the beginning of my speech: Let us all promise here that we will make our region an oasis of opportunities and will not leave it as a region of conflict. Thank you all for coming to Georgia. Thank you for helping the world get back to normal. Thank you for developing our collective security.

"I sincerely wish you all a successful conference in order to ensure more cooperation between our nations," the Prime Minister said.
