According to Shalva Khachapuridze, the former president's lawyer, the judge ordered Mikheil Saakashvili to participate in the process remotely.
At the session, it is planned to question the witnesses, including the head of the Empathy center, Mariam Jishkariani.
Parallel to the process, at 11:00, Mikheil Saakashvili's supporters will hold a rally near the Tbilisi City Court.
The defense requested Saakashvili's exemption from the sentence due to the serious health condition of the former president, which was based on the report prepared by medical experts under the auspices of the Empathy center.
