The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, met with the representatives of the opposition.
As one of the leaders of Lelo, Salome Samadashvili, said after the meeting, Georgia is facing serious challenges and therefore, they discussed all these challenges and threats with the President.
"We talked about the worst situation in the country. The worst thing happened, a former representative of the government was sanctioned for espionage. Our government has decided to sabotage not only the European future of our country, but also the Western sanctions regime and thus put in danger every citizen of Georgia who uses the banking system and is a citizen of this country.
Through sabotage, Georgian Dream threatened the European future of this country. On the other hand, by its own decision, it put every citizen of Georgia under threat to cover up Pardskhaladze, who is sanctioned for espionage.
The country is facing serious challenges, therefore, it is clear that we had a conversation with the President about all these challenges and threats," said Samadashvili.
According to her, the President herself will speak about this issue in front of the public.
According to Ana Buchukuri, deputy of the For Georgia party, the meeting was held at the initiative of Salome Zurabishvili, but she cannot talk about the details.
"Every time the President considers it necessary to meet our team, we will naturally come, because our team respects the institution of the President.
Many issues were discussed, but the main issue was still the European integration process. It was a closed meeting and therefore I cannot talk about the details, I will not allow myself to do so," said Buchukuri.
According to Khatia Dekanoidze, a member of the parliamentary political group Eurooptimists, during the meeting with the President, the conversation was about the issue of depriving the former Prosecutor General, Otar Partskhaladze, of his Georgian citizenship. According to Dekanoidze, the position of the President regarding the impeachment, as well as Otar Partskhaladze's citizenship, will be known.
"The President is doing everything, of course, she is advocating Georgia's candidate status, and she shared this information with us. We also told her our position regarding Partskhaladze's citizenship. She will make a statement in this regard. The position of the President will probably become known in connection with the impeachment and the citizenship of Partskhaladze," said Dekanoidze.
Official information about the meeting of the President's administration has not yet been released.
