Irakli Kobakhidze: It is a fact that the decision to pardon Mikheil Saakashvili has not been on the agenda - this man had been dying for two years, it was impossible to revive him, although we see that he revived, he is not dying anymore

Salome Zurabishvili is completely dependent on specific forces - she will do what they tell her, but the fact is, the decision [to pardon Mikheil Saakashvili] has not been on the agenda as of today, the chairman of Georgian Dream, Irakli Kobakhidze, said.

According to him, there may be certain reasons why the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili has refrained from pardoning the third president of the country, Mikheil Saakashvili.

As Kobakhidze notes, Mikheil Saakashvili's yesterday's statements regarding Salome Zurabishvili confirm the alliance between the National Movement and Zurabishvili.

"In fact, Salome Zurabishvili herself became a constituent part of the collective National Movement. There may be some reasons why he refrains from pardoning Saakashvili until now. It may be other current affairs, it may be another reason. I can't tell you, it will be difficult for me to make predictions. One thing is clear - Salome Zurabishvili is completely dependent on specific forces, she will do what they say, but the fact is that this decision has not been on the agenda as of today," said Kobakhidze.

In addition, the chairman of Georgian Dream notes that Mikheil Saakashvili's desire to return to politics is doomed to failure.

According to him, the former president's actions are not serious.

"I don't know, this man was dying for two years, it was impossible to revive him, but no, we see that he revived, he is not ding anymore. In fact, his attitude is completely frivolous. For the first two years, he was simulating, in the truest sense of the word. After all, he damaged his own reputation. I'm sure even among his supporters, his reputation has been tarnished. When your own supporter looks at you and sees you simulating, maintaining a political image at such a time is simply unimaginable. At such a time, his desire to return to politics is certainly doomed to failure," said Irakli Kobakhidze.

He also answered the question regarding Strategy Builder on the fact that the party does not rule out Zurabishvili leaving her position early and participating in the election process.

"We also had a conversation about it. There is such a plan - Salome Zurabishvili, Nino Lomjaria, Giorgi Gakharia, the more 3%, 2%, 1% parties will be represented in the next elections, the better for us. The more votes the opposition as a whole will lose and the more mandates will go to us," Kobakhidze said.
