Next week - on February 6, the spring session of the Parliament will open. At the first plenary session of the spring session, the Parliament will hear the President's annual report on the most important issues in the country.
After the President's speech, the procedure also includes speeches by the leaders of factions and the leader of the parliamentary majority. After the speeches, the President of Georgia is entitled to make a closing speech. After the completion of the procedure, the plenary session of the Parliament will be closed.
In the first week of the spring session, the Parliament will also discuss the issue of the approval of the government. The new government composition and government program were submitted to the Parliamentary Bureau on February 2.
Georgian Dream nominated Irakli Kobakhidze for the post of Prime Minister. The change in the Cabinet of Ministers only affected the Minister of Defense. Juansher Burchuladze will be replaced by Irakli Chikovani, the majoritarian MP of Zugdidi, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament.
