Irakli Kobakhidze: In total, Georgia became the initiator, signatory or supporter of more than 600 resolutions, statements and other initiatives adopted or proposed in support of Ukraine

In total, Georgia has become the initiator, signatory or supporter of more than 600 resolutions, statements, joint statements and other initiatives adopted or put forward by international organizations and institutions in support of Ukraine - Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze noted this in a statement made within the framework of the Ukraine Restoration Conference.

According to the head of government, the education system of Georgia has received more than 2,300 Ukrainian students, most of whom are receiving secondary education in the Ukrainian language, in accordance with the standard Ukrainian curriculum.

"It is true that after the beginning of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, Georgia did not introduce national sanctions against Russia, but all relevant state agencies strictly control the sanctioned persons and cargoes. The Government of Georgia maintains close coordination with the European Union, Great Britain, the USA and other states that control the implementation of sanctions.

At the same time, the Government of Georgia has allocated significant humanitarian aid to Ukraine and supports Ukrainian citizens currently living in Georgia. According to today's data, more than 1,000 tons of humanitarian cargo were sent to Ukraine, and the aid allocated by the Government of Georgia exceeds 35 million GEL. Georgia is still providing assistance to 26,000 war-affected Ukrainians currently living in Georgia.

After 2022, Ukrainians who came to the territory of Georgia due to the ongoing war will be provided with the same amount of financial assistance as displaced persons from the territories of Georgia occupied by Russia: Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region.

It should be noted that the Georgian education system has received more than 2,300 Ukrainian students, the majority of whom receive secondary education in the Ukrainian language, in accordance with the standard Ukrainian curriculum.

In addition, realizing that children represent one of the most vulnerable groups in the face of the devastating effects of war, our youth camps host Ukrainian children in the summer. In particular, the children of Ukrainian Armed Forces and National Guard servicemen living in Kharkiv and Kyiv will take part in the said camps. These children, accompanied by authorized guardians, will rest in our regions, in a safe and friendly environment," said the Prime Minister.
