The organizers of the summit did not invite the representative of the executive power of Georgia, which is a direct demarcation - the invitation of Salome Zurabishvili was a political-symbolic load, "Eurooptimists" MP Roman Gotsiridze said about this while talking to journalists, thus evaluating the messages of the President of Georgia at the Ukraine Peace Summit held in Switzerland.
According to him, the expression of Georgia's solidarity with Ukraine, with the presence of Salome Zurabishvili, is important for the country's political reputation.
"It should be emphasized that the organizers of the summit did not invite a representative of the executive power of Georgia, which is directly related to open democracy, since the government generally makes decisions, and even more so in the parliamentary republic, where the executive functions of the president have actually been abolished. But the invitation of Salome Zurabishvili, at the same time, had a political and symbolic load, because it was emphasized that the Georgian government does not deserve to be in the European family because of the policy it is conducting," Gotsiridze said.
At the same time, the opposition member of parliament noted that "Georgian Dream" is in agony and their assessments regarding the visit of Salome Zurabishvili are wrong.
"Four months are left, no one wants any "Maidan". "Maidan" will happen if the elections are falsified, but we must hope that with the efforts of our people and the efforts of our international partners, in any case - whether the elections are falsified or not, the opposition will receive so many votes that after 4 months there will be a government that will return the country to the European path. ", he noted.
When asked what he means when he says that "Maidan" will happen if the elections are rigged, Gotsiridze answers: "There won't be any "Maidan" because "Georgian Dream" will go through the elections. "The only chance that "Georgian Dream" Staying in power is a total falsification of the elections, and no one will stop the total falsification. Naturally, this will have an adequate reaction from both the people and the international partners," said Gotsiridze.
