According to Irakli Kobakhidze, if the "National Movement" is banned, it will be logical to suspend the mandates of the MPs of the party who will enter the parliament

The Parliament of Moldova is practically one-party, but everyone welcomes the Parliament of Moldova. The same will happen in Georgia. The same standard should apply in all candidate countries, both in Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine. This is and this. I think that banning the "National Movement" is a very important condition for Georgia to continue its smooth progress in the direction of the European Union, - this is how Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze answered the journalist's question, the approach that for "Georgian Dream" all opposition parties are a collective "National Movement" and they should be banned, whether it will lead to the fact that after October 26, the Parliament of Georgia will be one-party.

The Prime Minister also answered the question: in the background, when the ruling team is talking about the cancellation of the "National Movement", will the mandates of the deputies of the "National Movement" who will enter the parliament be canceled?

"According to our current constitution, only the Constitutional Court can dissolve mandates. I think that the banning of the party will have a logical continuation, naturally, the cancellation of mandates as well. Criminal members of a criminal political force cannot enjoy such a status as a member of the Parliament of Georgia. Therefore, it would be a logical continuation. The parliament will remain democratically elected, where "Georgian Dream" will have a constitutional majority. This is fundamentally important," Kobakhidze said.

Also, he answered the journalist's question about the expected criticism from the West, as it was in 2020, and in such a situation, if the parliament is expected to remain one-party, whether this process will prevent European integration.

"It was a different time then. You remember that there was a direct revolution attempt by specific forces, this cannot be repeated in Georgia. Especially in the conditions when "Georgian Dream" will gain the constitutional majority, believe me that no one in Georgia will have such an attempt - to artificially organize a revolution in this country. At that time, specific forces directly tried to organize a revolution in this country. Today, the situation is different, such a thing cannot be repeated after these parliamentary elections...

Today, the Moldovan parliament is practically one-party, but no one talks about it. Nothing happens at such a time. The Parliament of Moldova is practically one-party, but everyone welcomes the Parliament of Moldova. The same will happen in Georgia. The same standard should apply in all candidate countries, both in Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine. This is and this. I think that banning the "national movement" is a very important condition for Georgia to continue its smooth progress in the direction of the European Union. If anyone created an artificial obstacle on the path of Georgia's European integration, it was the collective "national movement". The representatives of the collective "National Movement" carried out direct agitation in order to prevent the country from receiving the status of a candidate. You remember that once we failed to tell any opposition force, including puppet Salome Zurabishvili, that the country deserved the status of a candidate. As soon as the collective "national movement" is banned, the obstacles to the country's European integration will be removed immediately," said Kobakhidze.
