The founder of Netgazeti and Batumelebi, Mzia Amaglobeli, is suing Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, parliamentary majority leader Mamuka Mdinaradze, and People's Power MP Sozar Subari.

The lawsuit concerns statements made by politicians at various times through mass media outlets about Mzia Amaglobeli.

According to the authors of the lawsuit, the lawsuit requests that the statements made be considered defamatory and denied.

"On May 7, 2025, Mzia Amaglobeli filed a lawsuit with the Civil Cases Board of the Tbilisi City Court against Irakli Kobakhidze, Mamuka Mdinaradze and Sozar Subari. The lawsuit requests that the statements made by Irakli Kobakhidze, Mamuka Mdinaradze and Sozar Subari at various times through mass media about Mzia Amaglobeli be considered defamatory and that the said statement be denied by the same means.

The claims are based on Article 9, Part 1, Article 12, Parts 1 and 4 of Article 31 of the Constitution of Georgia. Article 6, Paragraph 2 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms. Article 18, Parts 2 and 3 of the Civil Code of Georgia. Article 1, Subparagraph “e” and Article 17, Part 1 of the Law on Freedom of Speech and Expression”, reads the information released.
