According to the Chairman of the National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, more than 150 thousand signatures were collected demanding the release of President Mikheil Saakashvili.
"Everyone should understand that if we want elections to be held in a minimally free environment, it is important for the main opposition leader to be free. The citizen of Georgia saw well the heroic action performed by President Saakashvili when he took a step related to being Ivanishvili’s political hostage, and he did it in order to carry out changes in Georgia, to change the attitude that Ivanishvili's government has towards the citizens of Georgia. We see that hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens are leaving the country due to low wages, unemployment, poverty, rising prices, and everyone know how President Saakashvili can pull this country out of the swamp. He already did this once together with the National Movement. We all saw the heroism that President Saakashvili did when he put his health, life and freedom in danger for his country. That's why more than 150 thousand signatures were collected, that's why there are hundreds of thousands of people who openly express support to President Saakashvili, and we are the people who want changes in this country so that every family can have prosperity. In Kutaisi, where the emigration is actually the largest, and Kutaisi residents know very well how Kutaisi was emptied of Kutaisi residents, how Ivanishvili and his government destroyed Kutaisi's perspective, they understand best how important Saakashvili's involvement is today in order to bring changes to this country and the people need these changes. Each person who signed was not afraid to record their data, and there are more than 150 thousand such people, I want to thank them, as well as all the involved people who collected these signatures in the rain and wind, and today these signatures will already arrive in the capital, and President Salome Zurabishvili has nothing left but one - to make the only correct decision and release President Mikheil Saakashvili", said Levan Khabeishvili.
