Russia and occupied Abkhazia are working on issues of simplifying border control. At the same time, the authorities of Sukhumi expect that in the future there will be no checkpoint at all, - about this the so-called president of occupied Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania told "Ria Novosti" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
"Such works are underway, but the Psou River checkpoint on the Russian side works within its capacity in the summer - July, August, September," said Bzhania.
According to him, a decision was made to use the old bridge and now its reconstruction is underway."It will make it easier to cross the border between the states, but I hope that in time we will reach a relationship history where the checkpoint will no longer be necessary. There will be a border, but the checkpoint will eventually become redundant," said Bzhania.
