Non-governmental organizations issue a joint statement regarding the current events

The Georgian civil sector categorically condemns the violence committed by Bidzina Ivanishvili's law enforcement agencies. This was stated in a joint statement of non-governmental organizations.

It is stated in the statement that the actions of "Georgian Dream" went beyond not only legal, but also constitutional and moral frameworks - "Prime Minister Ivanishvili" announced repressions a few days ago, and today the law enforcement agencies were involved in completing this task."

In addition, it is noted that "initiation of repression, torture of detainees and excessive use of force against protesters by the illegitimate force in power is a sign of the regime's weakness and fear".

The organizations call on the international democratic community, the friendly countries of Georgia, to stand by the Georgian people and use the available mechanisms to stop the representatives of the repressive Russian regime, including imposing individual sanctions on those who commit, order and are responsible for violence.

In addition, the statement demands the immediate release of all persons arrested after November 28, the appointment of re-elections.

"Georgian civil sector categorically condemns the illegal detention of civil activist groups and politicians by the force agencies of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the search of their offices and the facts of violence carried out by the police. The actions of the Georgian Dream went beyond not only legal, but also constitutional and moral frameworks. Ivanishvili's Prime Minister announced repressions a few days ago, and today the law enforcement agencies have been involved in carrying out this task. It is obvious that this violent regime is doing everything to trample the interests of Georgia and the Georgian people and to intimidate Georgian citizens so that they stop resisting the Russian criminal regime. Ivanishvili's government is afraid of the people, because only the people can put an end to this lawlessness.

The initiation of repression by the illegitimate force in power, the torture of detainees and the excessive use of force against protesters are a sign of the regime's weakness and fear. We are not afraid, Georgian people continue to fight against violence, injustice and establishment of anti-constitutional order.

We demand the immediate release of all persons arrested after November 28, the appointment of re-elections, under the conditions of staffing the CEC and law enforcement agencies with consensus candidates. Also, the violent employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and their supervisors should be brought to justice.

We call on the international democratic community, friendly countries of Georgia, to stand by the Georgian people and use the mechanisms at their disposal to stop the representatives of the repressive Russian regime, including imposing individual sanctions on those who commit, order and are responsible for the violence," reads the statement signed by:
